Client experience

Serve customers twelve hours away without working all night

Plenty of businesses now sell between Australia, New Zealand and the UK. The time difference can feel like a weakness. With the right design it becomes a promise of progress while the customer sleeps.

The gap is the opportunity

Brisbane sits ten hours ahead of London for half the year and nine hours ahead for the other half, because Queensland does not use daylight saving and the UK does. Sydney and Melbourne move by an hour in their own summer, and New Zealand is ahead again. The overlap in normal working hours is short, and it moves.

Most businesses treat that as a scheduling headache. The better question is what a customer would value when they wake up.

The Studio overnight handover

We design a simple rhythm. One short overlap window each week for live decisions. Everything else moves through a clear written handover. The customer ends their day with a question. They start the next one with an answer, a draft or a decision ready for them.

This only works if the handover is reliable. A named owner, a standard format and a promise you can keep every time. Customers forgive a late reply far more easily than an unpredictable one.

  • Publish your working hours in both time zones.
  • Fix one weekly overlap slot for live decisions.
  • End every day with a written handover in the same format.
  • Promise a response time you can always meet.
  • Check the clocks twice a year when daylight saving changes.

Put it to work

A practical next step

If you serve customers in another time zone, write down what they find waiting in their inbox each morning. Design that moment deliberately for one customer this month.

Be the obvious choice in local search

For most local businesses across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, the first impression happens on a map or a search result. Your Google Business Profile often matters more than your homepage. Here is how we make it work as hard as a shopfront.
